Prior to working with INK inc., Wheat worked as a sports writer whose work has appeared in such newspapers as The Kansas City Star, Los Angeles Daily News, Cincinnati Enquirer, Huntsville (AL) Times and Newhall (CA) Signal. Most recently, Wheat was the Communications Director for Rivals.com, a sports Internet network of more than 600 sports team and affinity channels and Media Director for Student Sports Inc. - the nation's leading high school sports media network. His experience also includes working on the KCAL-TV (Los Angeles CBS affiliate) assignment desk, KCTV-TVs (Kansas City CBS affiliate) Call for Action consumer action series and WDAF-AM radio, which was the flagship of the Kansas City Royals baseball club where he performed pre- and post-game interviews. He started a small public relations firm in 1995, Interactive Business Communications, where he worked with clients such as Rick Dyer, the creator of Dragons Lair; Relax the Back Corporation; Healing the Children; and the Los Angeles Athletic Club. Rob helped coordinate the American launch of Nintendos Pokemon and worked on the "Donkey Kong Country" campaign. He received a B.S. degree in journalism from the University of Kansas.
